As the year kicks off and music fans desperately wait for festivals to begin to release their summer lineups, there are few things more exciting than watching the midwinter tours break up the early-year monotony. With acts like Treasure Fingers announcing full-scale tours before spring even bats an eye at us all, it’s almost worth waiting in the winter drudgery for the onslaught of stellar shows hitting your local stage. Treasure Fingers is setting up for his house-heavy Nite Trips tour, a journey through four corners of North America over the next month.

Since Treasure Fingers (as Ashley Jones) began his DJ career as part of Evol Intent, his drum & bass roots are clear. His funky, deep-sitting house music derives from the steady, driving bassline of a D&B banger, but with a steadier, smoother feel that even those unacclimated to D&B can appreciate. He has a talent for taking a standard disco sound and reinventing it to fit his style; the key to a Treasure Fingers track is manipulating organ and synth lines and classic vocals as they travel from simple melodies into chopped-up breakdowns. By combining all of these different elements, Treasure Fingers creates a potpourri of party sound that is nostalgic, mechanical, and purely danceable.

Landis Lapace joins Treasure Fingers for the tour, representing a more driven, dedicated house sound. The teenaged DJ may be new to the scene, but his classic house is hard-hitting and precise — a delight for house devotees.

With a love of dance music stemming from countless years of dance lessons and bass-thumping car rides with her music-obsessed father, Sarah Ribeiro is a Hartford-raised music addict who moved to Boston in the pursuit of a supportive and open nightlife scene. A passion for learning and a willingness to grow has pulled her out of her trancehead sphere and exposed her to a crazy variety of music and introduced her to some of the most amazing people (and events) Boston has to offer. A writer and social mediac, her main interests are music, literature, technology, art, and her first love: the city of Boston.
