If a simple Halloween party doesn’t satiate your desire to dress up and dance around, then we have a suggestion – head down to Live Oak, Florida for the Suwanee Hulaween Festival. This three-day camping festival boasts a line-up overflowing with livetronica; headliners include The String Cheese Incident, STS9, and Big Gigantic, while artists such as Eliot Lipp, Conspirator, Manic Focus, and Emancipator will also be playing. For any fan of electronic-music-meets-jam-band, this line up is clearly stacked with stars, yet the overall vibe and sonic tidbits sure to be heard will appeal to all.
Along with a solid line up, the fest also features a number of activities that attendees can participate in, including yoga sessions and a disc golf tournament, as well as a silent disco. Those wishing to give back to the surrounding community are advised to bring five or more canned, non-perishable, food items for the first annual food drive to support the Love Inc. Food Bank. Those who do give will be rewarded with the satisfaction of helping those in need and a commemorative festival poster. Returning to the festival once again is its extensive greening program, urging festival goers to conserve packaging and waste, as well as to carpool to and from the festival. There will be plenty of labeled containers for glass, plastic, compost, and aluminum, ensuring Suwanee Music Park will be left exactly the way it began.

Tickets range in price depending on whether you opt for GA ($189 for a three day pass), VIP admission ($220 for a three day pass) or day passes but all three options are relatively affordable when considering the amount of fun this fest has to offer. If you want to camp, but prefer to use an RV, you’re more than welcome at this fest as well. Those looking for a ride there would do well to check out the festival’s official Facebook page to connect with other fans and organize a carpool. If you’re not the camping type or need to save some dough, there are a few choices of hotels close to the festival grounds that still have open reservations. With just a week left until the three-day extravaganza kicks off, be sure to grab your tickets ASAP and keep the festival magic going through the fall season!

Steve's obsession with music began when he was 16; he saw his then-favorite band, Metallica, play the TD Garden in Boston. His musical tastes have broadened since then, but he is still chasing that feeling of excitement & unity he felt at his first show. His introduction to the dance music came when friends brought him to a Bassnectar show, and he hasn't looked back since. When Steve heard MASS EDMC were looking for writers, he jumped at the chance to get more involved. Writing for MASS EDMC has given Steve a rare opportunity to combine two of his passions: writing & live music.
