As the weather begins to warm, one thing starts to come to mind more and more frequently – festival season. The longing to frolic outside while listening to amazing music becomes undeniable, and this feeling is further perpetuated by the festivals themselves – spring is also festival lineup announcement season. As such, Shambhala Music Festival announced its 2016 headliners earlier this month, much to the delight to those who were lucky enough to secure tickets.

As anyone who has seen previous Shambhala lineups, it is no surprise that this year’s headliners are some of the best the electronic scene has to offer. The names span a wide variety of genres, and indicate that this year’s lineup will offer something for everything.

Though Shambhala can be considered a festival primarily focused on the bass side of electronic music, there is still a range of talent performing in 2016. Andy C and Sub Focus will provide some welcome drum & bass to the weekend. For those who prefer dubstep, Caspa B2B Rusko, Excision, Getter, and Space Jesus are welcome inclusions. For those who prefer a more hip hop or trap influenced sound, the addition of Grandtheft, Mija, Marshmello, and Troyboi is a delight. There are also a number of house acts included in the headliners announcement – from Amine Edge & Dance to Destructo and from Justin Martin to Nora En Pure, this year’s lineup really does provide a little something for everyone.

Unfortunately, tickets for Shambhala Festival have already sold out. Thus, in order to attend this year’s event, hopeful attendees should turn to their festival networks and online communities to attempt to find a ticket. Though all are gone via traditional outlets, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any available somewhere as the event nears.

Electric Shepherdess was born out of my frustration with nightlife options and a constant desire to dance. After a few years of adoration from afar, I partnered with my long-time friends, MASS EDMC, to spread our message far and wide. When I'm not tending to my flock, I'm writing, dancing, editing, managing, reading or curating. I believe in fancy hats and enjoy glitter, disco and lazers, often for days.
