Road to Nectar Bus: The Ultimate Journey

Basslights Bus

This time around, there is the option to join us on the Ultimate Journey, a spectacular seven-day journey of bass and fun. The Ultimate Journey will take bassheads from Boston, MA, Middletown, CT, and New York City, to Hampton, VA for Basslights; then from Basslights to Bassnectar NYE in Nashville, TN; and then back home to Boston, Middletown, and NYC. For any serious Northeast Bassnectar fan, this bus tour is definitely something you are going to want to partake in – are you ready?

The Utimate Journey bus is a bit nicer than your typical coach bus. You’ll have a leather reclining seat, and room underneath and inside the bus for luggage. The bus also has a bathroom, WIFI, Power Outlets, and LCD TV Screens. Music will be played and watching a movie is always an option – feel free to bring your favorite DVD!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Several one-way travel options are now available from Basslights to Nashville for NYE 360˚, as well as from Nashville to NYC, CT, & Boston (after NYE 360˚). See information & ticketing form below.

ULTIMATE JOURNEY COST BREAKDOWN

Grand Total Cost for Ultimate Journey: ~$600

To give you a better idea of how much it would cost if you joined us on our Ultimate Journey trip, we’ve broken it all down for you below. We’ve also compared the price of our bus trip to what it would cost if you were to fly or drive independently. We did not include personal expenses in our calculations, so please keep that in mind…

Ultimate Journey Bus Ticket: $250

vs. FLYING: Flying one-way to Basslights would cost a minimum of $350 from the New England area, not including your rental car that you would need to drive from the airport to Hampton, and then to Nashville TN. The cost of the rental car + gas would cost you several hundred dollars, and then you would need to fly home.

vs. DRIVING: The Ultimate Journey trip (New England -> Virginia -> Tennessee -> New England) is ~ 2375 miles and ~ 40 hours driving.

The average car in 2014 gets 23mpg (miles per gallon) – which means it will require 103 gallons to complete this trip. Let’s say gas costs $3 a gallon (which in most cases it will cost more) which amounts to ~$310 for the entire trip. If you split that with a few friends, it would be cheaper. However, that doesn’t include wear & tear on your car, having to drive 40 hours, safety concerns, and it won’t be as much fun!

Basslights Expenses: ~$180

Ticket // $104 (face value)
Hotel // $48.75 (split 4 ways, covers 2 nights)
Lotus Concert // $30.00 (This is optional – see itinerary below for details)

Bassnectar NYE Expenses: $156

Ticket // ~$80 (face value)
Hotel // $56 (split 4 ways, covers 2 nights)
Cabs // ~$20 (cab ride to venue from hotel, and ride back to hotel)

DEPARTURE FROM BASSLIGHTS & THE TRIP TO NASHVILLE:

The bus departs from the Embassy Suites & Days Inn in Hampton, VA at 11am on Monday, December 29th. Luggage should be packed and all personal items removed from rooms at least 45 minutes prior to departure. Please be outside of either hotel with your luggage by 11am (the bus is stopping at both hotels). Please don’t be late and hold up the rest of the bus.

We will be going to Lotus at the Norva in Norfolk, VA on Monday night. This is so that we can kill some time and avoid paying for an additional night’s stay in Nashville (so hotel rooms are only needed for 2 nights instead of 3). If you don’t want to go to Lotus, you can chill on the bus, or wander around Norfolk. Tickets to Lotus are $35 and can be purchased here.

After the Lotus show gets out, we’ll head straight to Nashville, TN – in other words, the accommodation for Monday night is the bus. Our arrival in Nashville will be around 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday, December 30th. This leaves a day between arrival and Bassnectar NYE.

RETURN HOME FROM NASHVILLE:

The bus will depart from the Red Roof Inn hotel in Nashville at 12pm on Thursday, January 1st. Luggage should be packed and all personal items removed from rooms at least 45 minutes prior to departure. It is highly recommended to meet at the departure location at least 15 minutes before departure. Please don’t be late and hold up the rest of the bus.

This bus will arrive back to the original departure locations around 12pm on Friday, January 2nd. Arrival times are estimates and may vary depending on rest stops, weather and traffic.

BUS POLICIES:

By riding on these buses you are joining our family, our team, and our community for the weekend. We’re all here to have the best time possible and in order to achieve this goal, it’s imperative that each passenger is responsible and respectful. Please look out for each other. The following policies are in place to ensure we get to the festival as safely and timely as possible. Any passenger who does not adhere to any of the below policies may be removed from the bus at the Bus Captain’s discretion.

1) STATE LAWS.

We will be crossing state borders and stopping at rest stops where laws may be strict, not to mention potentially encountering law enforcement throughout our trip. This means absolutely no alcoholic beverages, illicit substances, or questionable behavior outside the bus throughout the trip. If we see you visibly participating in any questionable behavior, we will not hesitate to remove you from the bus. Keep it tight!

2) PUBLIC BEHAVIOR.

Please be mindful of your behavior when we are at rest-stops, Walmart, or public settings of any sort while on the bus trip. Your actions reflect on our trip and community as a whole.

3) BE TIMELY.

There are 50 others on the bus besides yourself, and we’re all trying to get to the destination. At rest stops, you must be mindful and return to the bus by the time set designated by the Bus Captain. Those who dawdle will delay the arrival time for all passangers – please aim to avoid holding up the bus.

3) NO OPEN FLAMES.
4) MUST BE 21+ TO DRINK ALCOHOL.
5) BE RESPECTFUL.

Though you may not know everyone on the bus and though it can sometimes be extremely difficult to control your emotions/fists/words while contained within a small space for an extended period of time, we ask that you are respectful at all times.
