If there is one thing you can always count on, it’s time – no matter what, days go by and seasons pass. More often than not, this tends to be a reason to pout (c’mon, who actually likes freezing cold temperatures?) but when time brings us to the end of fall and the beginning of winter, that can only mean one thing: one of the biggest party nights of the year is fast approaching – New Year’s Eve 2015. Each year, there are hundreds of events across North America that you can choose as your option to ring in NYE. We know what you’re thinking – how on earth am you supposed to figure out which event you want to go to given all those options? Luckily for you, MASS EDMC has your back – we present to you our New Year’s Eve 2015 Legendary Party Guide. Not only do we have information about what’s happening on NYE itself, but we’ve also collected events across the country for an entire week surrounding to the big day (as well as both the weekend before, the weekend after, and New Year’s Day because there’s no better way to celebrate the passing of time than by dancing until dawn). Freaking Awesome. Since there are also a handful of stellar festivals happening around New Year’s Eve, we’ve also listed those for you below.

Festivals

Basslights in Hampton, VA. Headlined by Bassnectar and Pretty Lights (who swap closing the event each night), this festival features some major talent across it’s two-day span. Artists include Chromeo, Beats Antique, Eliot Lipp, and Exmag. Looking for a ride? Check out the MASS EDMC bus options here.

BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This year’s artists include Art Department, Carl Cox, Dixon, Joris Voorn, Maya Jane Coles, Loco Dice, Steve Lawler, and pretty much everyone else in the techno/house scene. Literally a party on the beach, this 10-festival rivals Burning Man in regards to stamina needed and is well worth the money.

Decadance Festival in Denver, CO. Headlined by Bassnectar, Armin Van Buuren, Zedd, Kaskade, and Big Gigantic, this indoor two-day festival is sure to pique your interest.

Holy Ship departing from Miami, FL. This year, the oceanic festival will take place over two weekends. Tickets for both three-day cruises are very very limited (aka sold out), so if you’re offered tickets, take them. The collaborations that stem from this (like Dillon Francis and Zedd’s friendship) are great, and the trip is filled with awesome interactions between artists and fans. Definitely a great option if you’re lucky enough to find tickets.

LED OMFG NYE in San Diego and Los Angeles, CA. San Deigo’s festival features artists Hardwell, Tiesto and Eric Prydz while LA’s festival features Flosstradamus, Eric Prydz, Madeon, Deorro and GTA. This festival expanded from two to three days this year which can only mean this fest is getting better and better with age.

Lights All Night in Dallas, TX. This is the 5th year of LAN, and the event organizers have definitely hit their stride. This year, artists include Skrillex, Armin Van Buuren, Zedd, Disclosure, Boys Noize, Chromeo, Zeds Dead, Odesza, tchami, Oliver Heldens and more.

POP NYE in Oakland, CA. Featuring Armin Van Buuren, Bingo Players, The M Machine and W&W, this festival features a 360 degree stage; this year’s theme is ‘Where will color take you’.

Snowglobe Music Festival  in Tahoe, CA. Headlined by Tiesto, Kaskade, Cut Copy and Snoop Dogg, this outdoor three-day festival is not for the inexperienced. Every year has gotten bigger and better, so if you can stand the cold, this is the celebration for you.

Electric Shepherdess was born out of my frustration with nightlife options and a constant desire to dance. After a few years of adoration from afar, I partnered with my long-time friends, MASS EDMC, to spread our message far and wide. When I'm not tending to my flock, I'm writing, dancing, editing, managing, reading or curating. I believe in fancy hats and enjoy glitter, disco and lazers, often for days.
