As 2013 wraps up, EDM fans are treated to the usual smattering of concert and festival announcements to ring in the New Year. With events like Basslights in Georgia and Deadmau5’s Count Down to Mau5 in New York, there’s no shortage of celebrations to choose from. Making its return this year is the Lights All Night festival, this time hosting events in Dallas, Texas and Mexico City. The Dallas event will once again take place over two nights on the last weekend of the year while the Mexico City date will offer a more traditional single-night show on New Year’s Eve.
Hosted at the massive Dallas Convention Center, the Dallas event will have two stages and features a fantastic line up both nights. The first night (Friday, December 27th) will be headlined by Deadmau5, who will deliver a set with his new live set-up Unhooked. Joining Mau5 will be fellow headliners Fedde Le Grand and Carnage. Stage two will be headlined by superstar trio Krewella, hybrid act Grizmatik (Griz and Gramatik), and British dubstep producer Zomboy. Night two (Saturday, December 28th) will feature KaskadeNicky RomeroR3hab, and DJ Bl3nd headlining stage one. On stage two headliners include Above and Beyond, who bring their signature brand of Group TherapyDiplo’s side project Major Lazer, and Fool’s Gold founder A-Trak. Given the size of the venue and popularity of the headlining acts, you can expect arena-level production when your favorite artists take either stage. In addition to pyrotechnics and lighting, trained performance artists will be on stage with every artist to further immerse you in the show’s atmosphere. See the full Dallas lineup below.

There’s a variety of ticket options for the event, with single day passes starting at $89 before fees and two-day passes starting at $135 before fees (all tickets are general admission). Those tight on cash can opt for the payment plan. If you’re looking to go all out, there’s a VIP option, which includes benefits like express entry, exclusive viewing areas for both stages, private bathrooms, a VIP-only bar, and an on-site event host to assist you. If you’re traveling, you can find a deal on a hotel package right here.

The second event seeks to bring the same experience to Mexico City on New Year’s Eve. If last year’s recap video is any indication, it should bring the large-scale festival atmosphere to Mexico City’s Pepsi Center. Nicky Romero will be the only headliner this time around with supporting act(s) to be announced. This marks the first time the festival has brought an event to Mexico so depending on ticket sales, it could decide whether or not the company decides to bring the full two-day experience to Mexico in the future. With festivals like BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen bringing in larger crowds every year combined with the worldwide popularity of EDM, Highland Concerts (the people behind Lights All Night) are wise to try and gauge their success in the market with this one-off show. Rival events for New Years Eve are few and far between, making Lights All Night a safe bet for the New Years party to beat in Mexico City for EDM fans. Expect more information in the coming weeks as the date of the inaugural Mexican date draws closer. Find out more information about Lights All Night: Mexico City here.

Steve's obsession with music began when he was 16; he saw his then-favorite band, Metallica, play the TD Garden in Boston. His musical tastes have broadened since then, but he is still chasing that feeling of excitement & unity he felt at his first show. His introduction to the dance music came when friends brought him to a Bassnectar show, and he hasn't looked back since. When Steve heard MASS EDMC were looking for writers, he jumped at the chance to get more involved. Writing for MASS EDMC has given Steve a rare opportunity to combine two of his passions: writing & live music.
