After gaining popularity last year with the explosion of house artists like Tchami and Oliver Heldens, the deep house genre has taken off. Lane 8, one of the talented young artists on the Anjunadeep label, has been a large part of this uprising by going on multiple tours, releasing fantastic remixes, and now, dropping a new album with an accompanying North American headline tour. His first full length album, Rise, is full of smooth, sexual goodness that is perfect for a night out in a dark club. Many of the jams on the album, like “Undercover,” “Diamonds,” and “Hot As You Want It” are guaranteed to flood dance halls.

Daniel Goldstein, who started experimenting with deep house in 2012, was scooped up and embraced by the Anjunadeep label in 2013. Alongside artists like Jody Wisternoff, Lancelot, 16 Bit Lolitas, and Dusky, Lane 8 and the entire Anjunadeep label have created an environment and culture unlike any other deep house crew. Earlier this year, the label announced an Anjunadeep tour which slid down the east coast and put their tightly-knit artists on display. On that tour, Lane 8 made a surprise appearance next to Wisternoff at their show at Verboten. He’s coming back to the venue this October, but this time, as his own headlining act.

What started Lane 8’s surge into the spotlight over the last year and a half were his unbelievable remixes. in the last year, he’s remixed three songs that have become absolute gems, Including Eric Prydz’s “Liberate,” Above & Beyond’s “Sticky Fingers,” and most recently, the sensual “Wallflower” remix for Maribou State. “Wallflower” was the highlight of his recent Group Therapy 150 set in Australia, where he opened up for Above & Beyond – a signal that Lane 8 is no longer just a “rising star,” but a force in his own right.
