The Swedish producer Jeremy Olander, best known for his progressive house and techno, has a lot to celebrate: a new EP, set to kick off a new label, is bringing him on a worldwide tour this winter. Olander, who has been tightly knit with Drumcode and Pryda Friends for the better part of the past decade, is splitting off into his new project to show the world what his unique breed of progressive house can offer to the dance music community.

Olander’s music has reached a new sophistication as he launches this new label, Vivrant. With the release of his newest EP, “Taiga,” Olander explores the growing trend of bridging techno and house. The eponymous track, for example, showcases elements of deep house — a steady kick drum and a minimal synth melody — while keeping the chopped, rugged basslines and allover dark sound of a traditional techno track. Throughout all this, Olander weaves in slight hints of trance through his uplifting breakdowns and riffs. This progressive style — in which Olander has been generally regarded as expert — is exactly what Olander promises on both his Vivrant tour and the label itself. Preview the first single from the album here.

Although the Vivrant tour kicked off this past December, Olander is already proving that he is ready to bring top talents worldwide as part of his label. The Vivrant launch party featured a widespread mix of acts, presenting dubspeeka, Jessie Granqvist and Timpleton to showcase the different moods and sounds that techno can bring to the table. This same level of talent can be expected throughout Olander’s tour, as he prepares to immerse audiences into pure progressive house and the new age of techno.
