Is there a better Halloween headliner than Figure? Everything the man does is steeped in old-school horror. His signature blend of spooky drumstep madness features guttural screams, psychotic laughter and wailing bass lines. And at this year’s Nightmare Festival, the sonic slaughter will be accompanied by the gruesome Terrorvision, a visual onslaught of cinematic gore lovingly curated and controlled by Figure himself.
scary
The three-day camping festival will take place at Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, MD, from October 31st to November 2nd. As its name suggests, Nightmare Festival is Halloween-themed, with haunted walks like the Zombie Graveyard and Forest of Childhood Fears winding through the grounds. Three dance stages will be active throughout the weekend, helmed by a diverse selection of EDM talent. And if things get too spooky, you can always mellow out in the Chillout Zone, a “pillow fort” with “psychedelic decorations.” There’s also a professional fire arts showcase, if that’s how you get your kicks.

Liquid Stranger fits the freaky bill nicely. He’s always been an odd duck, and his ominous, shadowy dub should resonate at an event like this. BT lands on a decidedly lighter end of the dance spectrum, bringing a shot of electro-acoustic beauty to the lineup. Terravita, Mitis, Crywolf, Russ Liquid and Thriftworks round things out.
trippy
VIP Cabin Rental tickets are sold out, but general admission presage passes are still available for $69. Passes include “all access to the grounds, haunted walks, parking” and “load/unloading times at start and end of event.” The festival is 18+, and doesn’t allow car camping or outside alcohol. Food vendors will be on site, and parking will be $20 for all vehicles with less than 3 people in them.
