Electric Forest Set Times

Electric Forest announced it’s schedule last week and though it is less than a month away, it’s still barely enough time to plan out my weekend. Since the festival has such a talented and deep line up, I expected a wealth of conflicts that would cause internal turmoil and stress so all-consuming that I would spend the next 20 days increasingly unable to focus on anything else. To my surprise, I’m fairly certain I will be able to see the majority of the artists I want, so long as I can navigate from stage to stage easily enough and can deal with missing some of each set. Hurrah!
The festival kicks off on Thursday evening and I already know where I’ll be heading after what I assume will be a slapdash attempt at setting up a tent – the Tripolee Stage, which will be curated by Movement, to see the dreamy Ryan Hemsworth, PLM darling Michal Menert and trap genie RL Grime. At some point, dashing to Morgan Page and Madeon at the Ranch Area, Orchard Lounge at the Forest Stage will be required, and ending at Lotus at the Sherwood Court seems a fitting way to end day one.
From that point on, things get complicated. Each day starts at noon with yoga sessions and various workshops for you to attend if you’re not too busy exploring while the music kicks off around 2pm and runs until late.
Friday evening, I’ll easily be able to attend Milkman on the Tripolee Stage followed by the delightful Grimes at Sherwood Court. After that, however, everything gets tricky. Conflicts like GrizMatik and Special Guests versus Baauer and Kill the Noise versus Luke the Knife will likely end up being last minute judgement calls. After catching some of NOISIA, who were my favorite set from EDC Las Vegas 2012, I’m heading to the curated ‘Deep In the Forest’ at the Forest Stage to see Cyril Hahn, whose delicious house remixes of old school classics makes him a must-see.
Saturday, the Tripolee Stage is home to the Fool’s Gold Clubhouse, featuring acts like Treasure Fingers, Craze, Just Blaze, OLIVER, Flosstradamus and A-Trak. While I’ll definitely spend most of my day here, Above & Beyond and Knife Party at the Sherwood Court will definitely be features of my evening. Also playing Saturday night is Empire of the Sun at the Ranch Arena, who will be present at most festivals this summer.
Sunday will start off slow and will most likely involve a decent amount of wandering until the hugely talented Robert DeLong plays on the Triploee Stage in the late afternoon. After that, the rest of Sunday will be spent in a whirlwind of music and stages, with Tommy Trash, Eliot Lipp, Eskmo, Emancipator, Le Castle Vania, NERVO, Pretty Lights and Beats Antique all playing this day creating numerous conflicts that already make my brow furrow.
Whew. I’m both excited and exhausting just thinking about it! Overwhelming tid-bit: the Silent Disco artists haven’t even been announced yet. But you know what? None of this bothers me because in less than a month, I will finally be at Electric Forest.

Electric Shepherdess was born out of my frustration with nightlife options and a constant desire to dance. After a few years of adoration from afar, I partnered with my long-time friends, MASS EDMC, to spread our message far and wide. When I'm not tending to my flock, I'm writing, dancing, editing, managing, reading or curating. I believe in fancy hats and enjoy glitter, disco and lazers, often for days.
