EDC NY 2013: Preview & Lineup

April 3rd, 2013

After a successful first year, EDC NY is back on May 17th & 18th and ready to party. The festival will be two days long instead of three (though if last year is any indication, this could change) and will be held at Citi Field, finally living up to its moniker by actually BEING in NYC. Extra good news for all the whippersnappers out there – it’s 18+.

The line up is certainly enough to make me salivate, even considering my bias for EDC: Las Vegas. There’s something for everyone this year. Bass fiends can womp around to Wilkinson, Zeds Dead, Ed Rush & Optical12th Planet, Borgore and Loadstar while house heads and techno lovers will bop to Art Department, Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, Damian Lazarus and Carl Cox. Heck, even hardstyle legend Headhunterz will be there.
Tickets start at a cool $215 for a two-day GA pass. If you want the luxury experience, VIP will cost you another $110 but it does come with its own entrance, optimal view decks, private bathroom (this is CLUTCH), a lanyard and a badge.
**UPDATE: Single day tickets are now on sale. Snag a Friday or Saturday GA pass for $119 and a VIP pass for $199.
I can only imagine which heavy hitters Carl Cox will be bringing with him – this year he brought Fatboy Slim, John Digweed, Luciano, UMEK, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin down to Miami to play at Ultra Music Festival, the latter two of which are already on the EDC NY line up so things are looking pretty delightful. Oh, and huge shout-out to Boston-natives Soul Clap for being on the bill! Daps all around.
Aspiring DJs rejoice: the Discovery Project is back again this year! Also, check out last year’s lead up video below.

Electric Shepherdess was born out of my frustration with nightlife options and a constant desire to dance. After a few years of adoration from afar, I partnered with my long-time friends, MASS EDMC, to spread our message far and wide. When I'm not tending to my flock, I'm writing, dancing, editing, managing, reading or curating. I believe in fancy hats and enjoy glitter, disco and lazers, often for days.
