As the festival season begins to wind down, more and more people are scrambling to get one last summer celebration in before the holidays hit. And Seattle’s Decibel Festival (dB), held from September 23rd through September 27th, brings the season to a close with an immersive, interactive experience that hits every corner of the city.

With a mixture of showcases, Optical parties, boat parties, and after-hours events, Decibel keeps Seattle alert through the festival’s full five days. The festival spreads itself across some of the city’s top venues, including The Crocodile, Neumos, Q Nightclub, Re-Bar, and The Triple Door. There is even a free, all-ages “dB in the Park” event held at Volunteer Park to get the whole city in on the action. And, during the festival, dB offers three days of free workshops, seminars, demo booths, artist talks, and panels with with online education company CreativeLive  – dB Conference – to keep everyone involved and educated.
dB’s lineup targets those who know the best of the best in the house and techno realm. Key players include J.Phlip, Daniel Avery, Joseph Capriati, and Julio Bashmore. Fans of a more chill vibe can seek out smooth R&B from Cyril Hahn and Sango or the tropical groove of Thievery Corporation. And everything in between — from Bonobo to Shiba San to Mija — covers the full spectrum of electronic sound, keeping festivalgoers on their toes and exposed to something new at each venue.

Decibel is offering discounted accommodations through W Seattle at 40% the normal hotel rate until September 9th.

With a love of dance music stemming from countless years of dance lessons and bass-thumping car rides with her music-obsessed father, Sarah Ribeiro is a Hartford-raised music addict who moved to Boston in the pursuit of a supportive and open nightlife scene. A passion for learning and a willingness to grow has pulled her out of her trancehead sphere and exposed her to a crazy variety of music and introduced her to some of the most amazing people (and events) Boston has to offer. A writer and social mediac, her main interests are music, literature, technology, art, and her first love: the city of Boston.
