Chrome Sparks is kicking off the year with a full-scale tour. The producer, who is celebrating the November release of his new EP, “Parallelism,” is taking his new music across North America. After the release off the album, it’s clear that this tour will be filled with mainly two things: synth and drums. As a professional percussionist, Chrome Sparks’ sound is certainly inspired by his background. His music — especially on “Parallelism” — flawlessly combines bright, complex melodies with prominent, driving rhythms on every track for a danceable display of percussion.
The lighthearted single “Give It Up” epitomizes the EP with a bouncing melody complemented by rough, altered vocals for a sound that’s just as fitting for a dance floor as it is for an episode of “The X Files.”

Joining the tour is Meishi Smile, an experimental house delight whose latest album, “Belong,” fuses hypnotic vocals with mechanical, digital songs for an almost psychedelic synthpop experience.
